Night and Day

I'm with the band...

Tonight we had a dinner party and an MBF concert broke out.

Michael and Erin came over for Monday night dinner. So did Ope, a long time family friend of Tracey's. As usual the dinner was awesome, the conversation was great and poor Jack was the brunt of many conversations...but he held his own as usual.

After dinner Michael immediately got up and cleared the dishes. That was odd, I always took him for a more chill guy. But, since he was clearing we all got up and cleaned of the table. And then I started noticing Michael looking out our front window. That was weird.

Then all of a sudden the whole story came together when Andrew Ball and Russell Broom showed up at my door with their musical instruments. We were about to be given a very, very special concert.

Sitting at the fireplace Michael said something to the effect of "This song may be very meaningful, but if it isn't it's still a great song."  And then he asked Tracey and I to stand and be ready to dance.

Tracey and I stood and embraced for the musical gift we were about to be given. Once the music started, the emotions ran really high, for Andrew, Michael and Russell were not there to sing just any song, they were there to sing our Wedding song!! They had connived through Dave Kelly and my brother Hal to figure out our first song. Night and Day by Cole Porter. Wow.

This was a very special memory and an incredible gift. Thank you, thank you so much guys.

Like the beat, beat, beat of the tom tom
When the jungle shadows fall
Like the tick, tick, tock of the stately clock
As it stands against the wall
Like the drip, drip, drip of the raindrops
When the summer show'are is through
So a voice within me keeps repeating
You, you, you

Night and day
You are the one
Only you 'neath the moon
Or under the sun
Whether near to me or far
No matter, darling where you are
I think of you
Night and day

Day and night
Why it is so
That this longing for you
Follows wherever I go
In the roarin' traffic's boom
In the silence of my lonely room
I think of you
Night and day

Night and day
Under the hide of me
There's an oh such a hungry
Yearnin' burnin' inside of me
And it's torment won't be through
'Til you let me spend my life
Making love to you
Day and night
Night and day
