Last week I met with a radiation oncologist to explore the idea of radiation treatment aimed at this troublesome pancreatic tumour.
Thru the meeting we decided it may not be the right time but that it may be a plan for the future. With the tumour showing a reduction in the path of the duodenum the growth as show by the CT scan is most likely further into the pancreas itself.
What the medical professionals are now discussing is when is the appropriate time for radiation. The rationale is that you do not want the mass to enlarge too much that it could be problematic later on, but you also don’t want to unnecessarily have to deal with the negative impacts of radiation in this very sensitive area.
Another step in the journey for sure. But one worth waiting for.
