Emergency

What a bad time to get a fever. Woke up around 2:30 am with shivers, a headache and a 38.2 fever.

I lay in bed for about an hour before waking up Tracey; she looked so comfortable.

Got into the hospital by 4:20 am. Was triaged and my fever was up to 38.9. They found me an isolation room by 4:45, things moved super fast.

They immediately took my vitals, fever was now 39.8. Was given two blood culture tests, a series of blood tests and gave them a urine sample. Was also given Tylenol for the rising fever.

After they had all those tests they took two chest X-rays with hopes of finding the infection. I was also given three dose of IV antibiotics which brought the fever in check.

They never suspected Covid 19 and I wasn’t given a swab to find out.

After all this they couldn’t find the source of the infection, which is exactly what happened when I went into emergency in December.

The good news, since this was the case previously my Oncologist and Emergency Doc felt it was best to give me antibiotics and sent me home. In total is was a quick seven hour ordeal.

You can certainly tell their protocols have been ramped up, and for that I’m thankful.

Also very thankful for the amazing staff and of course my lovely wife for taking such good care of me.

Going to sleep for a while.

Love
