Another emergency visit to the hospital. Seems like these are starting to get a little too regular for my liking.

As I’ve been writing about my pain and my stinky butt you too may have sensed that was simply a building up of another hospital story. If you saw it coming well then congratulations cause I didn’t see this one happening.

Four nights ago the pain hit a peak so I finally pulled out the hydromorph followed by a restless sleep. Three nights ago I developed significant pain that I thought I could manage with a walk around the block. As I came around the last corner towards my house I had an instant flare of pain so I kinda buckled, stopped and gathered myself, then I proceeded home to sit on my comfy lazy boy. But before I could make it all the way I had an instant, no warning explosive vomit on the corner of our lawn. I got the hose and cleaned up the mess, came in the house, and thought maybe a hot bath would help. Sadly only five minutes into the bath I got violent rigors and required Tracey’s help to get out of the bath.

It only took us another few minutes to decide to get me into Emerg and only 40 minutes to get into a bed (had to find one with enough isolation for me), so we were quick.

I’ve had at CT Scan, Xray, Ultrasound, ECG and a battery of blood tests. Answered so many questions, had my body poked and prodded, all in an effort to figure out yet again what keeps bringing me in.

As my liver numbers were high, along with all my other symptoms, the general consensus is that I passed a few gall stones. And it seems they were blocking the duct for a while which explains the extended pain, gas, and high liver enzymes as they were all backing up into the liver.

Now that’s not guaranteed but it’s more of an answer that I’ve gotten in my last couple of emergency visits.

I’m a mystery to all that try to assess me.

Hoping to be out in the next couple of days as they are waiting for blood cultures and confirmation of a positive oral antibiotic reaction.

I appreciate all the effort that goes into my assessment, medication and care and it saddens me that the people that work in this field have to have such an acrimonious relationship with our Health Minister. They deserve so much more respect.

Oooh I must be feeling better, I just got politically feisty there!

PS I tested negative for Covid…
