Gratitude Season

Adjustments.jpeg

Ever since I escaped from the hospital I feel like I’ve been moving fairly quickly. Lots on the go and I think feeling good, and a little boost of steroids in combination with all the great vibes of the holiday season has me feeling very full of gratitude!

The amount of support Tracey and I have received for the Research Chair in Pediatric Psychosocial Oncology is truly humbling. We’ve certainly signed hundreds of thank you letters, gotten significant donations by some great families, including our own, great companies including CIBC, Village and Evans Hunt and have had two highly successful fundraisers.

I’ve spoken about the Banc at Hotel Arts, and today I spent the afternoon at Shaw headquarters where the staff had a live and silent auction. Incredibly the staff raised $75,000 which was matched by Shaw adding another $150,000 to our cause. Moments like this remind me that a company is always stronger when they lead with purpose. Today was a great example of that and I’ll never forget some very emotional conversations with people also dealing with cancer in their families!!

Thank you to the Shaw family and staff for their incredible support!

We are indeed lucky to have been this opportunity to make a difference. Living a life of gratitude, joy and purpose is truly the only way to move forward!!
