Watching TV tonight, yes we still have cable, and saw this commercial that made me laugh. And at the end of the commercial I had a realization that really made me laugh.
As with most commercials you really tend to tune them out, and with this one I finally tuned in at about the :43 second point. I had missed all the positive stuff and joined at the point in pharmaceutical ads where you are shocked by the long list of side effects and wonder if they are worth the risks.
As I listened I was thinking to myself that this was ludicrous that a drug could have this many really shitty side effects, and they even have the gall to tell you these are just a portion of the list.
I of course was curious to know what drug it was and when I found out I laughed at myself. I actually laughed out loud. At myself.
This was the drug I took prior to the ones I’m on now. They both have the same side effects but the drug I’m on now has more efficacy.
The drug works and the title of the commercial is legit - ‘Longer Life’.
No lesson to share, just a reminder that the price for a longer life with my cancer is a comically long list of side effects.
